Our goal is to bring food allergy awareness to Northwest Arkansas and raise money for FARE (Food Allergy Research & Education). FARE in a national nonprofit organization dedicated to providing education, advocacy, and funding research to advance treatment and understanding.

Description:
Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) works on behalf of the 15 million Americans who have food allergy, including all those at risk for life-threatening anaphylaxis. This potentially deadly disease affects 1 in every 13 children in the United States – or roughly 2 in every classroom. Formed in 2012 as the result of a merger between the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network and the Food Allergy Initiative, FARE’s mission is to ensure the safety and inclusion of all those with food allergies while relentlessly seeking a cure. We do this by funding world-class research that advances treatment and understanding of the disease, providing evidence-based education and resources, undertaking advocacy at all levels of government, and increasing awareness of food allergy as potentially life-threatening and a growing public health issue. Building on the significant accomplishments of FAAN and FAI over the past two decades, FARE will, provide evidence-based education and resources, undertake advocacy at all levels of government, work to increase awareness of food allergies as a serious public health issue and fund world-class research that advances treatment and understanding.

The FARE Walk for Food Allergy will be holding walks in major cities across the country this year, and will be coming to Northwest Arkansas for the second year in a row! It is an exciting opportunity to not only raise funds to support FARE's important work on behalf of those with food allergies, but also improve food allergy awareness in Northwest Arkansas.
