About The Volunteer Action Center (VAC)
The Volunteer Action Center (VAC) is a student led organization that connects University of Arkansas students to volunteering opportunities in the northwest Arkansas. The VAC consists of a student leadership board and student volunteer members. The leadership board is made up of 45 dedicated students, including an Executive Team and five leadership teams that oversee our signature programs. VAC board members support a network of student volunteers and partner agencies through programs, events, services and resources – including GivePulse and HogSync.

Jane B Gearhart Full Circle Food Pantry
Nourishing bodies, empowering minds, and creating a community of compassion since 2011. Our campus food pantry is a resource for students, staff, faculty and their families to recieve food assistance. We provide non-perishable food items, fresh produce from our own garden and also offer information on food insecurity and resources for SNAP training.
Razorback Food Recovery
We recover food from campus dining halls and retail locations and delivers them to partner organizations – food pantries, homeless shelters and community centers. The team also gives information on how to reduce food waste and create sustainable food systems in our region.
Our core program helps bridge the gap between students and volunteer organizations. This team is dedicated to seeking out opportunities both on and off campus so students can discover the many aspects of service. From freshman outrerach to information sessions with local agencies and even the largest nationwide day of service- we can help you find projects that not only matter, but matter to you!
Passionate About Learning
The P.A.L. program combines education and mentorship to help elementary students in Fayetteville become life-long learners.
The VAC operates through the Center for Community Engagement (CCE) and is located in the CCE Office, A643, on the east side of the sixth floor in the Arkansas Student Union.
