The Jane B. Gearhart Full Circle Campus Food Pantry and Razorback Food Recovery Programs need summer volunteers! Anyone age 16 or older is able to apply for weekly shifts throughout Summer Sessions 1 or 2. Training sessions will be provided before volunteer work begins. Exact dates for each program are provided in the application links.
The Jane B. Gearhart Full Circle Campus Food Pantry was founded in 2011 and serves students, staff, faculty and their households of the University of Arkansas. During the summer Full Circle serves clients through our on-campus pantry, delivers to off-campus clients with our Full Circle Express mobile pantry, and facilitates other smaller projects. They need volunteers to help serve clients during open hours (Mondays 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., Wednesdays 3 – 5 p.m.), restock shelves, portion dry foods, keep the pantry clean, maintain our gardens and run Full Circle Express. Razorback Food Recovery was founded in 2014. In partnership with Chartwells, RFR recovers food from dining halls and retail locations on campus and distributes it to local agencies in Fayetteville. This past year, we recovered more than 25,000 pounds of food. We need volunteers to recover and deliver food Monday through Friday. To apply to volunteer with RFR, click here.
Razorback Food Recovery also recovers from the Walmart Shareholders week. These volunteer shifts are a single-day commitment, allowing for more flexibility. RFR needs volunteers for these shifts from Monday, June 3, through Saturday, June 8. To sign up for Walmart Week, visit the Volunteer Action Center page on GivePulse.
