(Believing in Girls)

The Dream B.I.G. program aims to empower young girls, through mentorship, by encouraging them to overcome adversity in their community and embrace their unique qualities.

Who We Are

Dream B.I.G. (Believing in Girls) is a student-led mentoring program of the Volunteer Action Center. The program partners with Big Brothers Big Sisters Northwest Arkansas and J.O. Kelly Middle School in the Springdale School District.

What We Do

University of Arkansas women serve as mentors (Bigs) and are matched with 6th and 7th grade girls (Littles) at J.O. Kelly Middle School. The program consists of monthly Brave Girl sessions that focus on identity development through community support, cultural awareness, and one of a kind programming.
