Abby Hunter
Chair
Abby Hunter serves as the Chair for Dream BIG. Abby is a senior majoring in biology and Spanish and minoring in Medical Humanities and Global Studies. She is from Fort Smith, Arkansas. Abby served as a mentor for Dream BIG during her freshman year and joined the board her sophomore year. Abby loves Dream BIG because she is passionate about empowering girls and women and loves to see the program’s impact firsthand. She believes wholeheartedly in the program’s mission and is excited for the upcoming year.
Ella Stanley
Intern
Ella Stanley serves as the Intern for Dream Big. Ella is a senior majoring in Communication with a minor in event management and marketing. They are originally from Yukon, Oklahoma. Ella Stanley first heard about the VAC their freshman year through another board member promoting it in her sorority. She joined the board her sophomore year. Ella loves getting to create a supportive and encouraging environment for college girls to be able to empower middle schoolers.
Cassidy Burba
Matching Coordinator
Cassidy Burba serves as one of the Matching Coordinators for Dream B.I.G. Cassidy is a junior majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders and minoring in Spanish. She grew up in Van Buren, AR and has been involved in the VAC as a P.A.L. mentor and as a Dream B.I.G. mentor! Cassidy is excited to continue promoting confidence in young girls through the program and to make sure the mentors are supported throughout this school year. She loves being a part of the VAC board and working with such inspiring members of the community!
Marta Balconi
Matching Coordinator
Marta Balconi serves as the Matching Coordinator for Dream B.I.G. She’s an international student from Italy majoring in Psychology and Philosophy. This is her second year in Dream B.I.G. After being a mentor for the first year, she really wanted to be more involved in such a supporting and loving environment. She loves working with kids and believes that not only middle school girls can benefit from this program, but mentors and people from the board can always learn something new and inspiring from them.

Sarah McMakin
Communications Coordinator
Sarah is a senior at the U of A this year studying Exercise Science. She hopes to become a travel physical therapist. She got involved with the VAC to broaden her experience and love for the community. She currently serves as the Communications Coordinator of the girls mentor program, Dream B.I.G. The Comms Coordinator photographs the program and creates the graphic design merchandise. Sarah chose this position to be able to bring the feeling of women empowerment and inclusivity to life through art. Sarah has always had a wild fascination for the development of others and a passion to create work that will spark remembrance of that time together. She is excited for this year and the ideas her and her team will bring to life!

Abigail Gonzalez-San Juan
Logistics Coordinator
Abi Gonzalez-San Juan is majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Latin American and Latino Studies. She is from De Queen, Arkansas. Abi got involved with the VAC when she signed up to be a project leader on Make a Difference Day her freshman year. This event prompted her to join the board her sophomore year. Abi is really excited to be a part of the VAC and Dream Big because she wants to show others that any volunteering experience can change someone’s life!
