Ben Walworth

President

Ben Walworth serves as the President of the Volunteer Action Center. Originally from Branson, Missouri, Ben is a senior majoring in marketing and minoring in nonprofit studies and communication. Ben has been involved with the Volunteer Action Center since he started college, first as a volunteer at the Jane B. Gearhart Full Circle Food Pantry, then serving as the Data and Operations Coordinator for the pantry board his sophomore year, and most recently serving as the Associate of Marketing as part of the executive communications team his junior year. Ben loves that the VAC is a community of students who are dedicated to creating lasting and sustainable impacts through service.

Anna Johnson

Anna Johnson

Vice President of Operations

Anna serves as the Vice President of Operations for the Volunteer Action Center. She is a senior majoring in chemistry with a minor in medical humanities. Anna is from Lenexa, Kansas and joined the VAC as a PAL volunteer her junior year. She loves the impact VAC has on the campus and Fayetteville community as well as the wonderful people within the organization.

Angela Espares

Angela Espares

Vice President of Communications

Angela Espares is a Senior pursuing a degree in Public Health with a minor in General Business. In the Spring of 2022, Angela found the Volunteer Action Center through GivePulse. She loved the VAC’s mission to create impactful change in the Fayetteville community through service opportunities. During the 2022-2023 school year, Angela proudly served as the VAC board’s first Associate of Digital Management. She had the opportunity to reimagine the VAC’s website to serve as a central hub for various audiences to learn more about the VAC. During the summer, she continued working with the Center for Community Engagement as the Executive Intern, where she got to assist in creating promotional pieces for upcoming events, plan for wide-scale board events, and implement standard procedures for the Communications team. She is excited to serve as the Vice President of Communications and share more about VAC, its six signature programs, and the impact students at the U of A have created in the Northwest Arkansas community through volunteerism.

Said Angeles

Vice President of Board Development and Education

Said Angeles is a Social Work Major, and by starting his year as the Vice President of Board Development and Education, he is actively building skills and creating bonds which will help him in his future prospects.
 
He is originally from De Queen, Arkansas and is very passionate about service and community. He has been involved in several VAC events such as Envisioning Justice Together, which made him determined to apply for the board. This year will be super exciting for him!
Judy Kamau

Vice President of Programming and Community Inclusion

Judy Kamau serves as the Vice President of Programming and Community Inclusion for the executive board. Judy is currently a senior majoring in Economics and minoring in both Sustainability and Data Analytics. Judy is originally from Dallas, Texas. She first learned about the VAC when she began her front desk job in the Center for Community Engagement office during her freshman year. After receiving tons of encouragement, Judy ended up serving for a couple different programs where a lot of her passions lie (Dream BIG and Razorback Food Recovery). She is excited to grow in her event planning and programming skills in addition to building strong relationships within the NWA community while serving in her position this year.

Historian

Natalie is a sophomore serving as the Historian for the Volunteer Action Center. Natalie majors in Sociology with a minor in Legal Studies and a minor in Southern Studies. She first got involved with the VAC freshman year serving as the Front Desk Assistant. Natalie chose the role of Historian to further VAC Alumni connections and to develop record keeping systems for the VAC. Natalie loves that the VAC is a place where everyone truly belongs and believes that the strength of the VAC’s is teamwork and collaboration

Haris Rana

GivePulse Intern

Haris Rana is the GivePulse Intern for the Volunteer Action Center. He is from Fort Smith, Arkansas, Haris is a junior majoring in biology and minoring in philosophy, psychology, and medical humanities. He learned about the VAC in his freshman year through his advisor and joined the board as a sophomore. Haris loves the chance to engage with students from all walks of life and connect them to opportunities they are passionate about.

Associate of Marketing

Jordyn Moore serves as the Associate of Marketing for the Volunteer Action Center. Jordyn is a junior majoring in psychology. She is originally from Dallas, Texas. Jordyn first learned about the VAC her freshman year volunteering with Razorback Food Recovery as a repack volunteer and joined the board their sophomore year. Jordyn loves how much of a supportive community space the VAC is.

Associate of Digital Management

Claire Simpson serves as the Associate for Digital Management. Claire is a sophomore majoring in psychology and minoring in biology, on the pre-med track. She is from Lubbock, Texas. Claire first learned about the VAC her freshman year on Make a Difference Day and joined the board her sophomore year. Claire loves the community that she has found within the VAC. She also loves how the VAC makes a positive impact both on campus and in the Fayetteville community.
