Sophia Anreder is the Razorback Food Recovery Chair. She is a senior majoring in Biology with a minor in Spanish. She is from Joplin, Missouri. Sophia first learned about the VAC her freshman year through volunteering at the Jane B. Gearhart Full Circle Food Pantry. After serving as the Alternative Assistance Coordinator on the pantry’s board, she joined RFR to combine her passions of reducing food insecurity and improving sustainability measures on campus.

Intern

Valeria (Val) Fernandez is the Intern for Razorback Food Recovery. She is a Human Nutrition and Dietetics major with a Human Development and Family Sciences minor. Val spent most of her grade school years in Cabot, AR, but she is among the first in her family generation to be raised in the U.S., with her family being from Costa Rica. Val first learned about the VAC board by being a RFR repackaging volunteer her freshman year and by continuing to experiment with different positions as recovery volunteer and distribution volunteer in her sophomore year. Her experience encouraged her to join the board second semester of sophomore year. Val appreciates the connections she’s made with other volunteers and board members in the program who share a common interest for RFR’s goals. Val has learned a lot about the community nonprofit partners involved with RFR and the integrative processes that support the team’s efforts towards reducing food waste and feeding the community.

Partner Coordinator

Rachel serves as the RFR Partner Coordinator for the Volunteer Action Center. Rachel is a junior majoring in Communications and minoring in Theatre and French. She was born in Colombia and later moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma . Rachel first learned about the VAC their sophomore year from Make a Difference Day and joined the board her junior year. She is passionate about food recovery from having worked at a food pantry! Rachel loves how friendly, kind and supportive the VAC is and how it has helped her meet many people who are passionate about service!

Communications Coordinator

Maya is the Razorback Food Recovery Communications Coordinator. She is a junior majoring in Communications and minoring in Marketing. She is originally from Pflugerville, Texas, and learned about the VAC her sophomore year after volunteering with as a recovery and repack volunteer. Maya was inspired to join the board after being on a shift with a board member, where she learned what the VAC was and had to offer, including a space to share her passion for food programs. Maya hopes to take her experience at the U of A with RFR into her post-graduate career in the non-profit field!

Data Coordinator

Britney Patel serves as the Data Coordinator for Razorback Food Recovery. Britney is a Junior majoring in Finance and Supply Chain Management from Little Rock, Arkansas. Britney first got involved with the VAC through Make A Difference Day and volunteering with Razorback Food Recovery and joined the board their junior year. Britney loves working with RFR because it directly impacts the community by reducing food waste and supporting those in need.

Sourcing Coordinator

Haleena Sharif serves as the Sourcing Coordinator for the Razorback Food Recovery program. Haleena is a junior majoring in Biology. She is originally from England but has spent most of her life in Bentonville, Arkansas. Haleena first learned about the VAC her freshman year on Make a Difference Day and joined the board her sophomore year. Haleena loves how the VAC is an impact-driven organization that encourages students to engage with meaningful volunteer opportunities. She is inspired by RFR’s unique mission to turn food waste into something that positively impacts the Northwest Arkansas community.

On-Campus Volunteer Coordinatorr

Auldyn is the On-Campus Volunteer Coordinator for Razorback Food Recovery. She is a sophomore at the University of Arkansas, majoring in Environmental, Soil & Water Science with a minor in Sustainability. Originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Auldyn has long been passionate about sustainability and community service. She heard about the VAC her freshman year, which brought her to volunteer with RFR! Her commitment to environmental stewardship and desire to make a tangible impact on campus led her to join the RFR Board, where she now plays a role in coordinating and empowering volunteers. Auldyn is excited about creating sustainable change and fostering a culture of environmental responsibility within her community.

Grace Schneider

Off-Campus Volunteer Coordinator

Grace Schneider is the Off-Campus Volunteer Coordinator for Razorback Food Recovery. She is a triple major in Criminology, Sociology, and Political Science, with minors in Legal Studies and History. Grace is originally from St.Louis, Missouri. In her university perspectives class freshman year, Grace learned about the VAC and became an RFR distribution driver the following semester. This prompted her to apply for and join the board during the second semester of her sophomore year. Grace holds a great appreciation for the connection and sense of community RFR has given her both on and off campus.
